There is a continually growing and active research community working with hihi. You can see previous work by checking out the research publications here and see who is actively working with hihi and also part of the recovery group here. Often a good place to start locating active researchers is by looking at the publication details of authors on recent articles. There are many more researchers than those represented on the Hihi Recovery Group. This is largely because their commitments are spread elsewhere such that they are less involved with day to day management of the species. All research contributions are highly valued in learning about hihi ecology and management and helping raise awareness of this special bird.  Although all researchers are busy working on hihi biology and conservation research (among other things) they would try and answer any serious questions regarding their work if you wished to contact them.
